Linksys SRX Review
In: Computer Reviews
The Linksys SRX ( Speed and Range eXpansion ) router has earnt its place in our apartment and office simply because it outperformed the rest of the Linksys routers we have been going through. Some background. Our apartment and office both have unusual walls — enforced with a lot of steel, which act as Faraday cages and seriously limit the range of the routers. In addition to the range issue, we have had problems with over-crowding of channels. This router allowed us to overcome both the factors with its additional antenna (and circuitry) and the auto-channel selection feature which automatically selects less crowded channels.
VedeGo 28 Touch Screen Personal Media Player
In: Media Players
Look, it’s an iPod Touch named the VedeGo Media Player! Okay, so it’s not made by Apple or anything like that, but it’s practically the exact same gadget. The Vidego uses a large multi-touch display screen similar to the iPhone and lets you glide through music, videos, photos and radio stations.
Samsung’s PAVV HDTV is 3D Ready, Has 1,000,000:1 Contrast Ratio
In: HDTV News, HDTV ReviewsSamsung has announced that it will be releasing the world’s first Plasma HDTV with 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio — no, we’re not joking, a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, which, if you’re counting, is enough contrast ratio to hollow our your eye sockets.
Excited?
The TV is also 3D-ready, that’s right — not HD-ready, but 3D-ready, meaning you can watch 3D movies or play 3D games with the dinky, silly, headache causing 3D glasses we all simultaneously love and hate — isn’t technology grand?
Duke Nukem 3D to be released in late 2008
In: Video Games, WindowsIt’s hip to remake old games, and Garland-based video game developer, 3D Realms, knows it — as it’s announced that it will be releasing Duke Nukem Forever, in late 2008.
Duke Nukem, the romantic story of a man who just wanted to blow things up, was revolutionary as a 1996 PC game called Duke Nukem 3D. The new game should be available for the Xbox 360, the PS3 and PCs.
Snickers Superbowl Commercial Pulled
In: Superbowl CommercialsThe Super Bowl is over and like you, we were eagerly awaiting to hear what the controversy would be this year. Would it be a strange play during the game? A carelessly shown nipple? Someone lighting on fire? Unfortunately, it was none of these. This year, it’s Snickers, a candy bar not only known for being delicious, but for its strong homophobic tendencies.
